Adopt

Why is foster first better?

A French bulldog, a black and white cat, and a cream-colored kitten are cuddled together on a dark green pillow, on a couch with a floral wallpaper background.

When most people think of adopting a pet, they think of rows of cages full of animals and people choosing a pet from the line up.

These can be stressful environments for animals. Kennels are noisy, bright, and clinical with strange people coming and going. Very few animals behave naturally in these settings so it’s hard to know their true personality.

Our fosters work hard to socialise our animals and allow them to experience normal family life. From toilet training, basic manners and social interactions, fosters teach our pets everything they need to know. In turn, we can recognise them as individuals and understand what they might need when adopted.

When you apply to adopt with PAW Society, we take the time to understand your lifestyle as well so we can easily match you to the right pet.

This results in a more reliable match and prevents our animals from being stuck in a cycle of rescue and return.
