Just as we were celebrating Disney and Rafiki’s recovery, their sister Alice was diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) - a once fatal disease now treatable, but at great cost.

FIP develops when the common Feline Coronavirus mutates and triggers a severe immune response. With up to 80% of cats carrying this virus, it’s a serious concern for every cat owner. Thankfully, effective medication is now available in the UK, but treatment is expensive and uncertain.

Alice is critically ill, also battling severe anaemia and jaundice, but is receiving intensive vet care. Her costs have already exceeded £1,000, which we’re expecting to double, and she urgently needs our support.

We welcomed five new cats into our care in October, including two (currently nameless!) kittens estimated to be around 4 - 6 weeks old. They came into our care following an accidental litter.

Tiffin, age 13 and Shelley age 1.5, also made their way from Romania and our partners, The Great Catsby. Shelley is now available to adopt from foster and Tiffin has been charming the customer at Kiko’s Cat Cafe, Rye.

Financially, we brought in £2,813.90 and spent £3,007.81, finishing the month with a small deficit of £193.91. The majority of our funds went toward essential vet care, transport, and foster supplies - every penny making a real difference to the animals who rely on us.
