FIP kittens update

Next week, Disney will finish his GS treatment to treat FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis)! His latest blood results were perfect and his weight has doubled since starting treatment in January. He’ll now enter into a 12-week observation period to monitor for signs of relapse, the first four weeks of which are the most high risk.

Rafiki is still undergoing his GS treatment and is now five weeks in. He has a long way to go but isn’t nearly as sick as Disney was. He’s required no chest drains (fingers crossed that continues!) and his weight is in line with the rest of his siblings.

Both boys have come such a long way and continue to amaze us every day with their strength of character. Although neither are completely out of the woods, we’re optimistic they can beat this awful illness.

As we grow more and more, pressure is mounting on our existing team - all of whom are unpaid for their work, have full-time jobs outside of the charity, our own pets, families, and social lives (when we have the time!)

Two areas that are vital to our success are fundraising and social media.

We’re recruiting in each area and are keen to find passionate volunteers with a few hours to spare each week volunteering from home.

Animals available to adopt

Daisy, age 5, has been in our care for 10 months. She was surrendered when her owner’s home was too busy for this calm and gentle girl. She’s described as a beautiful cat who builds strong and loyal bonds, especially with children. She’s looking for an indoor only home and can live with other pets and children. Olly, age 5.5, has been in our care for over a year. His foster says he’s the gentlest dog she’s ever come across, although he’s built like a barrel and has about as much grace as one! Olly thrives on play and attention and adores every dog he meets. Olly’s perfect home would be with some dog friends where he can go on car rides to new and interesting walking spots. Gypsy, age 1.5, has shown herself to be confident and affectionate, often nudging people for affection.

Gypsy could be adopted as an only pet or with one laid back cat. She can live with children aged 6+ and could explore outdoors in the right area. Find out more about Gypsy here.

March round-up

One of our core values is transparency. That’s why we publish all the numbers that go into running a charity every single month.

With all the medical cases we have at the moment, a loss of £200 is better than we’d predicted and should mean we can recover for April.
