A month ago, we weren't sure Benny would survive.

He arrived in our care after a suspected road traffic accident with a fractured pelvis, severe bruising, anaemia, and a long list of complications. He was unable to eat, drink, walk, or even go to the toilet properly on his own. There were moments when we truly didn't know if he would make it.

Today, we're so happy to share a much brighter update.

✨ Benny is eating and drinking by himself.
✨ His feeding tube has been removed.
✨ He's walking independently again.

He's still a little wobbly on his feet, and that's something he's likely to live with permanently, but seeing him happily making his way around is something we once only hoped for.

The best news is that there have been no further complications from his injuries. Benny has, however, been diagnosed with a heart condition, meaning he'll need medication for the rest of his life. Thankfully, he's taking everything in his stride and continues to show us just how resilient he is.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible support we've received. Every donation, every share, and every message of encouragement has helped give Benny the chance he deserved.

While we're celebrating how far he's come, we're not quite at the finish line. Benny's veterinary care has now reached £6,000, and as a small charity, that's an enormous cost for us to absorb.

We welcomed four new cats into our care - Tiger & Daisy from Project Paw Cyprus, Sissy from a UK home, and Clara from a vet practice.

Each arrival marks the beginning of a new journey, and we're so grateful to our fosterers for opening their homes to these cats while they prepare for their forever families.

We also waved off five pets to their new homes, each one making space for another innocent animal who needs our help.

June ended on a strong financial footing, thanks to a grant that will fully fund our autumn spay campaign in Romania. Alongside the grant, your donations and adoption fees continued to support our day-to-day rescue work, covering veterinary treatment, transport, and essential care for the animals in our care.
