Catch up on the latest PAW Society news!

On Sunday 29th June in Liverpool, we welcomed 25 groups who rescue or campaign for animals. Some attended with animals they care for, including dogs, a miniature Shetland pony, spiders, and snakes. Alongside them, the crowd was treated to an artisan market and delicious hot food from local independent businesses.

The day was dog friendly and included and fun have a go activities and dog shows. Guest judges included Hannah Cockroft, GB Paralympic wheelchair racer, Minnah Shannon who appeared on hit TV show The Traitors, and Skylar the Samoyed, a dog model.

With anything new, there is lots to learn and improve. We’re excited for 2026 when we’ll be planning RescueFest North West AND South East! Keep an eye on the RescueFest website, Facebook, and Instagram for announcements.

With kitten season in full swing, we’ve welcomed eight kittens into our care in the last few weeks.

Eve, Humbug, and Murray were transferred to us from our friends at The Cat Welfare Group who were struggling to find space. As a fellow foster-based charity, we know the issues they face all year round.

Bertie was spotted at the side of the road by one of our adopters. The family managed to capture him but were unable to locate his mum or any remaining siblings. We believe mum is the same cat who’s been spotted in the area for years and experienced numerous pregnancies. Our efforts to locate her are ongoing. Bertie has gone to foster with the other trio to try and keep his development on track.

The below gorgeous foursome were found on a yard under thick undergrowth. Once captured, we learned that one of the workers had already removed the fifth sibling and taken them home. We’re extremely concerned at how this may affect their development and hope we can reunite them.

Similarly to Bertie, their mum has not yet been captured. The decision to remove kittens without their mum is always a difficult one, however, leaving them to stray could have had fatal consequences. They’ve been named after orange coloured snacks to reflet how absolutely yummy they are!

As well as the influx of kittens, we welcomed seven more animals from our partners in Romania.

Cats Sassy and Macey and dogs Daysi and Sally have settled into private foster. We were especially thrilled to be in a position to help a couple of “wonky” pets - Macey and Sally are deaf and Sally is also missing her right eye.

Another three cats, Holly, Ellie, and William, have made their way to our foster partners Kiko’s Cat Cafe where they’re showing off their confident personalities. Frequent visitors of Kiko’s may notice something familiar about Holly - she’s the sister of Merry who was adopted in May!
