Spaying and neutering has always been at the heart of our mission - because preventing suffering is just as important as rescuing it.

This autumn, we’re taking a significant step forward. For the first time ever, our team will be on the ground in Tulcea, Romania, working directly alongside our trusted partners at The Great Catsby. Until now, we’ve supported vital “spay-athons” from afar - but this time, we’ll be there in person, helping deliver change where it’s needed most.

Tulcea is a region where many pets are not neutered and are left to roam and reproduce. When owners can’t cope, countless animals are abandoned - facing hunger, illness, and often a short, difficult life.

In just two days, we aim to fund the neutering of 140 cats and dogs, preventing over 2,000 births in a single year - and many more in the generations that follow.

This is how we break the cycle.

In March, a total of five cats all made their way to us in partnership with our friends at The Great Catbsy and Project Paw Cyprus.

We also waved on seven pets to their new homes, each one making space for another innocent animal who needs our help.

One of our core values is transparency. That’s why we publish all the numbers that go into running a charity every single month.

We’re still feeling the pressure of the three strays we took on in March but all are on their way to a full recovery. Alongside this, we’re still needing to find the transport of healthy animals needing our help.

We were incredibly grateful to receive a £5,000 grant, which has made a huge difference in helping us cover these costs and continue our work with confidence.
