Happy March!

Welcome to the March edition of our newsletter. The evenings are getting lighter and it’s (sort of) getting warmer out there - spring is on its way! This year is flying by, but we’ve still managed to pack a lot into the past month. Here’s your full rundown:

The Neuter Project

Our biggest mission this month involved taking eight of our cats to be neutered at the Neuter Project - an amazing volunteer-run organisation which offers free neutering for animal rescues.

Their volunteer vets give up their spare time to help rescues like us reduce the number of unwanted pets by neutering. We were joined by our wonderful partners at Kiko’s Cat Cafe who are fostering some of the kitties we had neutered.

A big surprise….

Another of our 2024 feline arrivals, Lulu, was originally booked in to be neutered with the group above. That was until we discovered she was pregnant!

Her pregnancy is already very far along and any intervention now could risk her life. So, as much as bringing even more kittens into the world goes against our ethos, we have to ensure Lulu’s safety as a priority. This is why we were so relieved to have a vet nurse friend come on board our fostering team and volunteer to care for Lulu and assist her during the birth of her kittens.

Adoptions

If you need a little positivity in your life, take a look below at the cats and dogs who have found their forever homes already this year!

Dallas (formerly George) was adopted three months ago and has settled in so well. His owners say he is doing amazingly and loves to be around his family - including the four-year-old grandson. The gentle giant is happiest running wild along quiet beaches and playing with his doggie pals!

Lovely Lottie is incredibly affectionate with her new family and is having a blast playing with her feline siblings. She loves nothing more than sitting on her owners’ shoulders or curling up in their laps while they work from home. Despite her love for snuggles, her family said she’s full of energy all the time and ‘mad as a box of frogs’!

Other successful adoptions in February include cats Ziggy, George, Leon and Kiki, and dog John Shelby.

Olly and Lorek came over from a shelter in Romania, while Polly and Nova are UK rescues. These sweethearts are currently settling into their foster homes before getting ready to find their forever homes.
